File Deletion From Media Browsers

This littlle diddy just popped up in the CVS

26-07-2005 added: support for the delete action in the media windows (requires file deletion be enabled)

Awesome! I've been begging for this for a while now. All the broadcatchers out there should praise the Xbmc devs for this feature. It will come in really handy. After watching a show, click, delete. Done. NICE!

  • One day soon, we'll be able to automate downloads via rss right there in this thing, and then... say goodbye to your old tivo! This is great news

  • Hi Jon :-)
    do you have some screenshot?

  • What does this feature do?

By Blogger Matt, at 12:55 PM

  • It allows you to delete media files from the viewing browser and not have to be in the Files view.

So, lets say my broadcatching system downloaded a bunch of shows. So I finally find the time to sit down and watch a few. Once i'm done, i can delete them right from the interface. Just like you would with a tivo.

  • Ohhh nice. That's the only reason I kept My Files around in the skin. Because if I ever needed to delete something. Can I delete files that are on the network?

  • I hope so... Thats what got me so excited. I dont keep anything on the xbox.

  • your pickings of newsworthy items are rather lame...

how about the soon to be ReInterlacer ("preview" already in cvs)?
    or the scalable skin?

  • I find that items like that get to be a bit too technical for general users. So i try to stick closer to UI enhancements and other changes that users will see directly.

  • Just put on the 7.27 build on XBMC....man it's really good. A lot of things seem smoother and I was played a 2GB movie over the network with no problems.

  • Hey, somewhat off topic, but what do you use for a "broadcatching system"? So many of the torrent sites with RSS's are gone.

    Cheers!
